Congratulations to All Presidential Appointees at the Ministry of Local Government – Republic of Liberia
The Ministry of Local Government proudly extends heartfelt congratulations to Minister F. Sakila Nyumalin Sr., along with his Deputy and Assistant Ministers, who were recently nominated, appeared before the Senate for confirmation hearings, and have now been officially appointed by His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia.
This milestone marks a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Liberia’s decentralization and local governance agenda. The appointments reflect the confidence of the President and the Legislature in the leadership team’s ability to deliver on the government’s vision of accountable, transparent, and citizen‑centered governance.
A Renewed Mandate for Service
With these appointments, the Ministry’s leadership is fully empowered to:
-
Drive the implementation of the Local Government Act of 2018 and related decentralization reforms.
-
Strengthen institutional capacity across counties and municipalities.
-
Promote inclusive development by ensuring that local communities benefit directly from national policies.
-
Uphold integrity, accountability, and service delivery in line with the government’s ARREST Agenda.
The Ministry acknowledges the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by its leadership team throughout the confirmation process. Their successful appointment is not only a personal achievement but also a collective victory for the institution and the people of Liberia. As Minister Nyumalin and his deputies assume their full responsibilities, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to working hand‑in‑hand with citizens, traditional leaders, civil society, and development partners to advance Liberia’s decentralization journey.
We celebrate this new chapter of leadership and look forward to greater strides in strengthening local governance and empowering communities across Liberia.
