Hon. Fatima Bintu Sirleaf is a dynamic and compassionate professional with extensive experience in Social Work and Urban Development. She is deeply committed to advancing equitable, resilient communities through policy advocacy, program development, and grassroots engagement, with a particular focus on marginalized and underserved populations. Her core competencies include stakeholder collaboration, sustainable development planning, needs assessment, and strengthening linkages between vulnerable communities and institutional support systems.

She currently serves as the Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs, Head of the Department of Urban Affairs at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and as a member of the Monrovia City Council. In these roles, she leads a multidisciplinary team of technicians dedicated to transforming urban slums across Liberia. Her work involves guiding the orderly growth of informal settlements into modern metropolitan areas and ensuring sustainable urban expansion across cities and municipalities.

Her previous professional experience includes serving as a Care Manager for Health Maintenance Organizations, where she led teams of health and social welfare professionals, managed significant operational budgets, and negotiated service contracts with major healthcare providers. She has also served as Social Work Director and Director of Social Services in various healthcare settings, overseeing social work departments, conducting assessments, coordinating care, and facilitating community-based referrals.

Hon. Sirleaf holds a Master of Social Work degree from Kean University, New Jersey, USA, and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Seton Hall University, New Jersey, USA. She is a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and possesses strong technical competencies, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and project management. Her professional training also includes Illness Management & Recovery (IMR).
