The initiative, held under the theme “Enhancing Capacity of Staff of the National Council of Chiefs Support Office for Effective Performance,” aims to strengthen institutional efficiency, improve productivity, and enhance service delivery within Liberia's traditional Governance structure.

The Ministry of Local Government has launched its Five-Year Implementation Plan (Phase II) of the Local Government Act (2018), advancing Liberia’s decentralization agenda through governance reforms that began with his 2024 State of the Nation Address, culminated in the August 2025 renaming of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This Unit is established to coordinate and support the implementation of decentralization reforms nationwide, in close collaboration with all sector Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs) represented on the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Decentralization (IMCD) and the Program Management Board (PMB).
